Besides, early-game Water Bolts are too tempting not to go for :P

Not in a direct fight; I've only really tried using a boomerang and a hoik setup.

I remember reading up on how to actually beat the Guardian, and getting a minishark just for that.

That's fair, but I moreso meant on the dodging side; I've only bothered using a boomerang and a hoik setup

It's been a long while but I think I used one of the really fast mounts like the UFO to outrun the Guardian, and never really used hoiks at all. The most elaborate arena I set up was basically a copy of one I saw in a Youtube video for fighting the Pumpkin/Frost Moons.

I used to play Terraria a lot, years ago! It was such an addicting game!

I would always dig and make a direct hole to the "hell", to climb using the grappling hooks, right underneath my houses!
