Rhan'Zoth is a not-so-old god (like the Lovecraft's old gods, but not so old). Tired of drifting through space and driving worlds into madness he took retirement into the depths of the Abyss near Nekoi Island. The inhabitants of the Abyss, bioluminescent nekoi and other deep-dwelling creatures, proved to be quite resistant to his maddening presence and showed only curiosity when he arrived. All the other nekoi, however, felt extremely anxious and panicky when going too close to the Abyss and then couldn't really remember why. No one was too keen on going there and checking, because they knew that the deep-dwelling nekoi are generally not very welcoming to outsiders so they would just keep their distance.

But every once in a while someone tried to enter the Abyss and explore the deeps.

When Octavius was a very little kitten he decided to sneak on an expedition into the Abyss and somehow managed to sneak very deep in, since he's tiny and unnoticeable (unlike abyss creature, he doesn't shine) and he somehow got to Rhan'Zoth. The not-so-old god was impressed by his stubbornness and swimming abilities, for this was the first outsider kitten to even survive going so deep, so he gifted him with a tentacle tail mutation and watched curiously if he will survive the swim back to the surface.

To be honest, I don't know when I'll sit to write the lore of the not-so-old gods and the stories around them. I started last summer and just now got to do this illustration ^^'
