I'm so happy with this piece!! My RP partner and I had a lot of fun talking about my dragons mother and what she looked like, but I wanted to create her. I struggled with this not because drawing dragons is hard for me but drawing gently, caring and motherly characters are hard for me. I've never really experienced my own mother as being any of these things so it always makes it hard to envision motherly characters.

So for this dragon, I ended up thinking of a different kind of motherly love I've experienced. I thought of a dear friend who has been more of a mother to me than my own mother. I wanted this piece to reflect the same aura of caring, peace, kindness, and wisdom I see in her.

This drawing took me a total of 5 hours and 22 minutes to complete. I'll be posting the speedpaint for it in a bit.
