Formerly the queen of the changeling swarm, Queen Chrysalis was one of the most ruthless villains in the ponyverse. She was initially encountered by Renegade & Codename Pariah in an unknown location in Equestria. Although Pariah wanted to kill the Queen outright, Renegade chose to spare her. When the Pariah Outbreak began to escalate, it was clear how large a threat Pariah was. When Pariah encountered her again, it was clear that her army couldn't save her now. While Pariah could have killed her there, he instead gave her a fighting chance. This makes her the only willing subject of infection in Equestia so far. Now known by the designation Tannenbaum, the former changeling queen became yet another slave to the virus. While regular changelings have grown full keratin armor plating, Tannenbaum only has crystalline structures growing where the leg holes were. Another notable change in physical appearance is the infectious growth around her right eye. Other physical changes include a change in hair color, wing color, and skin color. Much like her underlings, Tannenbaum retains the ability to shapeshift at will. Although she can still control her army to an extent, Pariah is the one who ultimately controls the infected army. This means that even if Tannenbaum were to be killed, the infected changeling army would still be able to attack at will. |
