Tale as old as Time chapter 2
The next morning, outside Sonic's house where Tommy and Dixon looked excitedly at the blue and white little house. And Tommy was wearing a fancy groom costume.
"Sonic's going to have a surprise of his life, right, Tommy?" asked Dixon excitedly.
"Yup! This is his lucky day!" Tommy smiled.
The wedding place were next to the garden along with the priest and wedding guests including the girls who were crying and heartbroken when they realised that Tommy intended to marry Sonic.
"I'd like to thank you all for coming to my wedding! But first I better go in there and propose to the Blue Boy." Tommy informed the wedding guests.
"Dixon, you know what to do?" asked Tommy.
"I know! When you and Sonic come out the door, I'll shrimp up the band!" said Dixon.
"That's right!" said Tommy.
While Sonic was in the living room, sitting in an armchair and reading his book, he heard some door knocking. He went to the hall entrence and looked inside a viewing device to see who knocked it was and it was Tommy Thunder. Sonic sighed annoyedly but opened the door for him anyway.
"Tommy, what a pleasant surprise!" said Sonic trying to be polite as possible.
"Isn't it though? I'm just full of surprises! And this is the day your dreams come true!" said Tommy proudly.
"What do you know about my dreams, Tommy?" asked Sonic.
"I know plenty about your dreams, Sonic!" replied Tommy.
"Picture this! A rustic hunting lodge, my latest kill roasting on the fire, my little husband massaging my feet, while our little ones play on the floor with the dogs. We'll have six or seven!"
"Dogs?" guessed Sonic.
"No, Sonic! Big and strong boys like me!" replied Tommy.
"Imagine that." said Sonic.
"And you who that little cute husband will be?" asked Tommy.
"Let me think." said Sonic, having a bad feeling who's the husband Tommy is going to marry.
"You, Sonic." said Tommy with a proud smile.
Sonic was shocked and walked backwards to the door. He didn't like the idea of marrying someone like the arrogant tiger.
"Tommy, I'm spechless! I have no idea what do say!" stuttered Sonic.
"Just say "Yes"!" said Tommy seducively as he cornered Sonic against the door and leaned to try to kiss Sonic.
"Sorry, Tommy! I just don't deserve you!" said Sonic as he secretly opened the door while Tommy continued to lean forward which caused Tommy to sent falling into a pond with a big splash.
"So, how'd it go?" asked Dixon.
"I'll have Sonic for my husband! Make no mistake about that!" snarled Tommy as he stormed away wet and angry. He had never been so rejected and humiliated in his life.
When the coast was clear, Sonic went outside and sat under a tree near the house and got disgusted with the idea of marrying Tommy.
"Can you imagine? He asked me to marry him. Me? The husband of that boorish, brainless oaf? No way!" Sonic thought to himself.
Suddenly, Lightning arrived home without Chuck. Sonic got worried.
"Lightning, what are you doing here? Where's Uncle Chuck?" asked Sonic worriedly.
"We have to find him! You have to take me to him!"
Sonic unhitched the wagon with the invention from Lightning and hopped into Lightning's back and they went deep into the dark forest where they found the castle. Lightning waited outside the castle near the door as Sonic entered the castle, looked around to search for his uncle while he cried his name. Little did Sonic know that he was being watched by moving objects. When Sonic came into the dungeon he heard a familiar voice from one of the cells and it was Chuck.
"Sonic?" asked Chuck.
"Uncle Chuck!" cried Sonic as he noticed him in a cell.
"How did you find me?" asked Chuck.
"Your hands are cold as ice! We have to get you out of this place!" said Sonic, ignoring his question as he felt his hand.
"Sonic, I want you to get out of here!" said Chuck worriedly.
"Who's done this to you?" asked Sonic.
"No time to explain, Sonic! But you must leave now!" said Chuck.
"No way, Uncle Chuck! I won't leave this castle without you!" cried Sonic.
Suddenly Shadow arrived and angry to see another intruder. Sonic got frightened to see a large, black werehog.
"What are you doing here?" growled Shadow.
"Sonic! Run!" cried Uncle Chuck.
But Sonic didn't move and stared at the black werehog.
"Who are you?" asked Sonic with a frightened face.
"I'm Shadow, the master of this castle." replied Shadow.
"I've come for my uncle! Please, let him go! Can't you see he's sick?" pleaded Sonic.
"Then he shouldn't have tresspassed here!" snarled Shadow.
"But he could die. Please, I'll do anything!" Sonic begged.
"There's nothing you can do! He's my prisoner!" said Shadow.
"There's gotta be some way I.. Wait! Take me instead!" said Sonic.
"You! You would take his place?" asked Shadow suprisedly.
"Sonic! No! I won't let you do this! You don't know what you're doing!" cried Chuck.
"Yes! If I did, would you let my uncle go?" asked Sonic.
"Yes, but you must promise to stay here forever!" said Shadow.
"You have my word" said Sonic as his face was down.
"Done!" said Shadow as he unlocked Chuck's cell.
Once Chuck was free from his cell, he rushed over to Sonic to reason with him
"Sonic, listen to me! I'm old. I live my life--" but when he was talking to Sonic. Shadow interrupted and grabbed Chuck to send him to the pallequin.
"Wait!" cried Sonic.
"No! Please, spare my nephew!" begged Chuck Shadow carried him.
"He's no longer your concern!" Shadow said.
When Shadow went outside he threw Chuck in a moving pallequin.
"Take him to the village!" Shadow ordered.
The pallequin did as Shadow said as it took Chuck away straight to the village. While it left, Sonic saw everything through the cell window. He became to cry for not being able to see his loving uncle again. Once Shadow returned to the dungeon to see Sonic in the cell.
"You didn't even let me say goodbye! I'll never see him again! I didn't get to say goodbye." Sonic sobbed.
Shadow felt guilty when he saw Sonic sobbing and crying in his cell. Rouge showed up in the dungeon. Shadow noticed her.
"Excuse me, your highness. Since the boy is going to be with us for quite some time, I was thinking that you might want to offer him a more comfortable room." suggested Rouge.
Shadow thought it was a good idea. He unlocked the cell. Sonic noticed the unlocked door sound and looked at Shadow.
"Come. I'll show you your room." said Shadow calmly.
"My room? But I thought.." asked Sonic surprisedly.
"You wanna stay in the tower?" asked Shadow.
"No." replied Sonic.
"Then follow me." said Shadow.
Shadow led Sonic to a guest room while he was holding Rouge as a light. The guest room was beautiful, luxurious and comfortable. But also kinda girly. Sonic went inside his girly guest room anyway.
"I hope you like it here. The castle is your home now. If there's anything you need, my servants will attend you. And you can go anywhere you wish, except the West Wing." informed Shadow tenderly.
"What's in the West Wing?" asked Sonic curiously.
"It's forbidden! When I said it's forbidden, I mean it!" Shadow yelled as he slammed the door.
"Hey, he didn't have to yell at me." Sonic thought to himself with disapproved face. He looked through the window and it snowed outside despite it was October.
Meanwhile inside the village tavern where Tommy Thunder sat on his armchair by the fire, still felt angry, dismissed and humiliated.
"Who does that blue boy think he is. He's tangled with the wrong man. No one says "no" to Tommy Thunder! Dismissed, rejected, publicly humiliated. Why, it's more than I can bare!" Tommy muttered angrily.
"More beer?" asked Dixon while trying to cheer Tommy up with another glass of beer.
"What for? Nothing else at all! I'm completely disgraced!" said Tommy.
"Who, you? Nonsense! I have to pull yourself together, Tommy! You're beloved and admired by everyone in the village!" said Dixon.
Suddenly Chuck bursted inside the tavern with panic.
"Help! Someone help me!" Chuck cried.
Every customers looked at him including Tommy and Dixon curiously what's going on.
"Please, I need your help! My nephew Sonic is locked up in a castle dungeon!" said Chuck hysterically.
"Hold your horses, Charles. Who's locked Sonic in a dungeon?" Tommy asked.
"A werehog! A big, horrible, monstrous werehog!" replied Chuck.
But no one believed him and snickered.
"Don't worry, Charles. We'll help you out!" Tommy smiled sarcastically.
Two of Tommy's friends escorted Chuck to the entrance and tossed him out of the tavern and Chuck landed in a snow pile.
"Crazy old Charles. He's always good for a laugh!" laughed the first guy.
"Yeah." agreed the second guy.
While Tommy overheard his two friends conversation about how crazy Chuck was. That gave him an idea, a despicable idea to find a way to marry Sonic.
To be continued...
