What’s really going on here is that Toothless doesn’t like Don 'cuz he’s completely alien - he doesn’t look right, doesn’t act right and doesn’t smell right and to Toothless that’s all red flags. So he wants him gone and away from his humans - to the point where he’ll disobey his rider and sneak off in the dead of night to pick a fight.
