These are the representations of the Fire Cat species that can be found within Derath Earth. They were once fire elementals that evolved beyond the point of being a mere elemental. I included flat versions of these, being without highlights or shading, so you can see all the fine details of each breed.
Each breed of fire cat has their own special quirks and traits, so prepare for an incoming wall of text.
Phoenix Fire Cats are rather large despite what they seem and really stand out with their fiery hair. Their average height is around 6'6", but Phoenix Fire Cats of around 8' are not unheard of. At max they can be up to 9' tall and have a minimum height of only 6'.
These fire cats are prone to fighting and acting as guards for their homes. But where fire cats often live, they rarely see visitors anyway, living in extremely hot areas, such as around or even inside active volcanoes.
Phoenix Fire Cats have a fiery temper as well, known to cause things to combust when extremely angry, so despite being able to prevent their fire hair from burning things they touch willingly, they tend to have to wear fire resistant clothing in case they have an outburst of anger.
As for the two characters here representing the Phoenix Fire Cats.
Thunder Cat, not his real name having discarded his name years ago, stands at 6'9" and was the friend of a dark mage Night Cat known as Dark Cat (who also discarded his real name) that tried to destroy the world at one point. Thunder Cat was born back in the 700s and is only alive to date due to immorality that was given to him by Dark Cat. Dark Cat himself, however, is no more.
Felecia is a sweet and friendly girl standing at 6'3" and is the leader of an all female elemental group known as the Second Animentals, where there's a group known as the Animentals that precedes theirs. While being one of the tallest members of the group, actually having one taller than her, she doesn't see herself as the leader really. More of the only one that comes up with the ideas and planning. She sees the group as nothing more than a bunch of friends working together on odd jobs.
These two, like most fire cats, hail from the Inferno Kingdom, which actually has a town in a volcano and is where the magi tower of fire is.
One thing I forgot to mention is their eye color. While they can have normal eye color, they most frequently have eye colors of possible flame colors, such as yellow, red, blue, and even on occasion white, or varying shades of these colors.
I only had two Inferno Fire Cats, both being male and bounty hunters, so just for this revisit, I created Kona to show case an Inferno Fire Cat with black stripes, and to have a female Inferno Fire Cat on roster.
Inferno Fire Cats love to explore and discover new places, but like their Phoenix Fire Cat brothers, they can't tolerate cold weather and has a preference and resistance to heat. As such for those that stay home, they can be found helping the Phoenix Fire Cats build things. They always have red hair, which traditionally they grow long. They also have golden fur that can either sport red or black stripes, regardless of gender. The Phoenix Fire Cats are the tallest of the Fire Cats, but the Inferno and Taimeian Fire Cats can both be taller than a normal person. Their stripes are often reminiscent of either tigers or tabbies and can vary fire cat to fire cat. Some of their stripes will even take on unusual curves that look more like a bend of a flame rather than a normal stripe. Those with stripes that take on a full flame aesthetic, though, are rare. Unlike the Phoenix Fire Cats, Inferno Fire Cats can have almost any normal eye color there is, but they can also have the shades of the flame eye colors in their possibilities.
Jason Simmon, a member of one of the most destructive squads of the Pangonian Bounty Hunters, the Chaos Squad, actually enjoys his work, even though this job has cost him his right arm. He now has a cybernetic right arm that even has a miniature rocket launcher and SMG in it. While a bit destruction happy compared to some other bounty hunters, he still gets along with his fellow hunters for the most part.
Kona Kobachi, a character I had to come up with as I was drawing this, tends to stay in the volcanic city of the fire elementals, and works as a standard shopkeep, selling fire resistant clothing. Something you'd need if you plan on living in an active volcano.
While of the same golden fur as the Inferno Fire Cats, the Taimeian Fire Cats are quite different. For one they can have either red or blonde hair and they always have black markings on their head in certain locations depending on their gender. Males can have markings on or around the areas of their cheeks, nose, and/or eyes while females have them on or around their ears, forehead, and/or mouth. Their tail is tipped with a black marking as well that usually ends in a zigzag pattern while they can have zigzag stripes on their tail near the end of three or up to ten stripes. The markings on their head can vary in design and those of a fire pattern are rare, but special, as those that have fire pattern markings are usually assigned a role of priest or otherwise within the Church of the Flame. Taimeian Fire Cats are very fun loving, but also due to their connection with the Church of the Flame order, they often help build or maintain churches within their fire cat communities. Once every 200 years a Taimeian Fire Cat inherits a rare type of fire magic where all the flames they can cast are of a black color.
Tuda Sage, one of the bounty hunters of the Inferno Squad in the Pangonian Bounty Hunters is also the oldest brother of Pyro Sage, the current bearer of the Black Flame. Tuda is often nice, but is willing to do what he can to take down a criminal, whether it's by using his sword or using his gauntlet, the electro claw.
Sami Mirage is a little simple minded, but despite this she loves to play games and geek out when she's allowed to. She actually works as a media store within a fire cat colony that sells music, movies, and games.
