This turned out so cute! Honestly I was kinda worried I wouldn't have enough orange yarn to pull this big guy off, but I did! It took most of one of those small balls of the 100% cotton yarn I like to work with (Lily n' Cream, hot orange, I think). Unfortunately, I might have sewn his legs on a bit too wide, so he pretty much rests on his nose, but he'll survive the various flingings he'll be subjected to, as he's going to be a birthday present for one of my sitting charges. I'll be crafting a puppy to go with this one, cause I want to.
The pattern for this big guy is in the book Amigurimi World by Ana Paula Rimoli, which has a lot of very cute patterns in it, and I reccomend picking it up. The sequel to that book doesn't have as many animals in it as toys, but still has a nice array of projects in it (I want to do the cake in the other book)
He reminds me of Doggie Daddy, like from the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, so maybe he's part dachsund?
