Narnia was MY first impression but also "The Forgotten Door" by Alexander Key. Very good story, Recommend it highly! :D

To me, it's a representation of the fantasy world I dive into everyday. I can open this door anytime I want in my mind, immerse myself into it, and when I'm done, go back to the door of reality. I like this.
