That was it! He was home! He made it!

Relief filled his system as he sighed, finally content that he could go home and be done with this ordeal,and with no one ever catching him.

But as he tried to enter, it held fast, being locked. The note pasted on the door telling everything.

“Javen, I’ve had to rush to see my mother because she’s had a bad fall, broke her hip, she says on the phone. So your father and I have taken the car off, and you have the house to yourself since your sister is on a study trip and your brother at camp, take care of the place alright?

Love, Mom”

With no one at home, and the house key in the schoolbag left at school, it seemed like he would be stuck in his briefs all weekend, or until he snuck in a window, perhaps?
