Sylvia hasn’t been feeling to well as of late. Physically she’s fine, but she has been feeling rather depressed. Turns out, the fecund feline hasn’t really enjoyed how her pregnancy has developed. She wasn’t expecting to have multiple children, but there she was with quadruplets. Due to her huge belly, she found it sometimes hard to get around, especially with all that extra weight. There was also the fact that she considered herself somewhat unattractive even though her husband James enthusiastically disagrees. Perhaps the thing that bothered her the most was the fear that she wouldn’t be a good enough mother for her children.
She hoped going to Tallwood Park would help her feel somewhat better, but the park’s beauty did little to improve her mood. She moped through the park for a few minutes before she noticed another woman passing her. She didn’t mind the squirrel woman at first, until she observed something specific about her as she passed. Sylvia turned her head slightly so she could see her better and she then realized that the other woman was quite heavily pregnant. Sylvia’s eyes widened and she began to blush. This other woman was huge, far larger than her. Everything about her seemed bigger. Her hips, bosom, and pregnant belly all seemed to be double the size of her own. Sylvia didn’t know why, but she had the sudden urge to hold onto her unborn children. Perhaps it was fear, or even embarrassment, that caused her to do such a thing.
As the woman walked, or rather waddled, away Sylvia also noticed something peculiar about the woman. Not only was she massively pregnant, she was also smiling and humming a sweet tune. This woman, who could barely fit into her gigantic t-shirt and overstretched sweatpants, seemed content. She didn’t know what to really make of it. This pregnant squirrel carried a burden far greater than her own, and yet she was comfortable. This other woman even had a song in her heart, something Sylvia assumed due to her cheerful humming.
As Sylvia watched the other mother-to-be shuffle away, she began to smile a little. She thought to herself, “If she can carry a burden like that and be happy, then I can too.” In that park amongst those trees, Sylvia began to feel her sorrow melt away. She then began to move forward, believing that her life would only get better.
