Quick lil' concepts for two new species of mine I drew a few days ago
Left is a Blighthauk, the other is a Brighthauk.
Blighthauk
An Avel dwellor long corrupted by a strange haze that mutated its once beautiful body. Those that still have wings can flap them at speeds unnatural to the species (about 20-25 times per second), allowing them to hover about the area at a human's running speed. A blight relies on crystals made from the now shrouded waters of its home in order to channel its enhanced magic energy, not to protect itself but to eliminate any other dwellor it senses. This motive is the only proof of what little will this creature has left.
Brighthauk
An Avel dwellor adapted to life in the skies of its home, complete with a long, flexible and almost elasticized neck that extends its reach. Its physical strength has reached the peak performance for its class, and, with enough wind to guide it, it may reach speeds of over 320 miles per hour. Its intelligence and knowledge far exceeds that of even the more humane creatures of the world it resides in, but it has no magical ability whatsoever.
