Laguna started off with a childhood as normal as any having been born to two loving parents with an average home and an average neighborhood being able to enjoy the simple things in life getting to play with similarly aged kids and boding with his mother and father for the first decade of his life. However by the age of ten all of this would turned on its head and his life would take a turn for the worst.
One night while he slept in his bed his house was broken into by a group of Homicidal Pokemon known as the infamous Void Clan and unknown to him his mother and father while they slept would be butchered by the group gruesomely and when he was found they decided to kidnap him and use him as a slave. For six years Laguna would be whipped, beaten and tortured whenever he messed up or made mistakes when ordered around having tons of physical scars to show his history of slavery to the group.
To make things worse they once performed a ritual on him after he evolved where they took some sort of orb like object and forced it into his chest causing severe scarring and bleeding putting him in much agonizing pain. Throughout this life he gradually grew weaker with his health deteriorating and the pile up of injures and scars leaving him unable to walk which lead the group to discussing replacing him and kidnapping a fresh child as a replacement.
Fortunately the group would be stumbled upon by another group of glowchu who were in direct conflict with the Void clan over their racist viewpoints towards them said to be the Star Clan or Twilight Clan depending on who is asked would storm them and fight them off which lead to Laguna being found weak and de-hydrated in a cage covered in so many scars. Finally being liberated and saved from his abusers and lay bed ridden in their village for nearly half a year before he could stand and move on his own.
Having the majority of his bodily injuries healed up aside from permanent ones and gaining energy back from the efforts or the nurses and doctors, Laguna was at first distant and quite being hesitant to speak due to how he was treated for six years even forgetting his own name for awhile as several tried to sooth him and help him return to normal which eventually he gradually improved and regained some of his pre-slave mindset.
One reaching a fully healed a nurished state Laguna thought long a hard about what he should do with his life, any family he knew dead and unaware of any extended family or anywhere to go. Thus this would lead him to decide on becoming a guard at the castle to help protect the King Solaris and the kingdom in order to repay them for saving him and underwent training and toughened himself up for the next decade.
During this time period Laguna had met a glowchu who he had become smitten with which slowly blossomed into a relationship helping him to open up and furthered his mindset recovering from his enslaved days helping his training as a guard all that much more and led to him becoming a bit silly and funny able to enjoy himself. Eventually having become a couple which unfortunately wouldn't last very long as his significant other had come down with an illness during a journey he had to partake in and unknown to him she passed away and had an Egg taken to an orphanage which he never learned about even when returning to realize her passing.
This would take a toll on him that would take a few years to recover from though having found love overall had an improvement on him then before as he decided to continue his job as a guard and was able to focus on helping the kingdom never knowing that he had a child somewhere in the world up to the current day as he continues being a guard and giving his all for the kingdom.
Tidbits
Laguna has the most scars on his back from excessive and consistent whipping When on the job Laguna decides to dress himself for the part to look professional even though it's not the norm. Laguna is pretty good with kids sometimes being called "Uncle Laguna" as a nickname due to his approachable and friendly demeanor.
