These are Derek and Daniel's parents who appear to be a human and a Mobian.
Gerald was the one who trained Derek into swordfighting and speed techniques which he can use as advantage. While Tawna is a skilled pilot who taught Daniel how to fly and tinker around gadgets.
Sadly, they died years ago because of Dr. Fitzgerald invading Anderia which is their home planet.
