Anansi is the Goddess of Deceit.

Anansi's true form is rarely beheld, as she can take many forms and play many characters, a talent that is strange even to the other gods. The form of the spider may itself be another character, with her original and "true" persona remaining a mystery. Because of this existential uncertainty, some think of Anansi as a demon, while others think of her as a Deva.

Anansi is known to be quite lustful and has borne many monstrous, demideitic children. As many mystical figures in history may have been Anansi, no one is certain of the full set of her offspring.
