Had someone ask me about where you shade a drawing.
Im no master at this but figured id post a pic showing that stage of process for me.

Also i just love the way this looks in black and white shaded.

I tend to work with a black and white copy at that point to more easily see where the shading is going.
I work from imagining a light source, which in this case is on the left side from an above angle.

Hopefully this helps you a bit seeing where shading would go, again im no master at this and just posting this as a help and because i liked the look.
