It is a beautiful and warm summer day. No clouds on the wide, blue sky. The schools are closed during the summer break and Anna was free today.
Together the sisters packed a little basket with snacks and drinks and then Anna took Sophia to the local lake.
It's not even noon yet, but the sun is already burning hot. Later this day the lake will be a hot spot for people spending the warm day. Now though it's still rather quiet.
While Anna enjoyed the sun warming her shiny fur, Sophia made use of the little pond of sand at the lake shore and build a sand castle. Anna watched her little sister.
It was fun and the two spotty girls enjoyed each others company. And as the temperatures climbed their way up over the 30, it became time for a well needed refreshing in the water.

Some time ago, last summer I think, I wanted to draw swim suit scenes with all my characters. Guess I've started to late, could only finish Anna and Sophia and it's only barely summer anymore. Although today is a bit of a more summery day.

On the background I've been inspired by Nonfinite's latest picture(s). Especially the lake. Mind the reflection on the slightly wavey water. Also the reflection in the Kiosk window.
I also tried to andvance my shading.

Oh, mind the scenes in the background. Will you notice something?

This came together really nicely, I'm quite impressed by all the little details you added to it! And a little bonus story as well!

There were people at the beach by the pond near me this afternoon. The trees might not be as green here, but I'd say it's still seasonally appropriate art!

Thank you very much^^
The story came spontainiously. Still had to do stuff. So doing stuff I didn't need to do at that moment came in handy.

It might not be full blown autumn yet, but at least here, if you would want to swim in that lake, you should probably wear a wet suit instead of a bathing suit. But then again...dogs.

I live in Montana, where we swim in lakes until they're frozen over! (And even then some people will try, but they're being a bit crazy at that point...)

Ayy, alright!
Guess some people here also do ice swimming. Not on a regular thing base, but like on an event. More or less.

(Oops, didn't reply to your comment with my comment there^^')

The late season/ice swimming stuff around here also tends to be for events. Still crazy, though! Too cold for me, anyway.

I think if you hit the cancel button it converts your comment to a not-reply one, and now I'm wondering if I've ever accidentally not replied to things that way... D:

It does, yeah. But in this case I've just forgotten to hit the reply button in first place I think.
Good thing you've still seen it. Wouldn't have ever noticed probably.
