0730 HOURS, DECEMBER 13, 2557 (MILITARY CALENDAR)/ EDGE OF EPSILON INDI SYSTEM FORMER COLONY WORLD MOBIUS/ NORTHERN HOLOSKA.

Alex finally having the ability to get out and do some proper recon on the supposedly reported Egg Empire forces being in the area, saw nothing in the area where the report said they where, not one to give up easily Alex made his way down a small over grown path in the woods, the weather had let up sooner than expected and it was only a light snow, something Alex could managed to work in, then something caught his eye, he turned towards it and went to the edge of the tree line, there he saw a encampment of soldiers milling around, "so that's where they are" he quietly muttered to himself, impressed that the enemy hid in plain view, using the terrain to their advantage to conceal them all.
Then that's when he noticed something else, and what his saw made his quills stand on end, a Covenant grunt hauling supplies over to a near by tent, then he saw more grunts, jackals, a few brutes, as well as four hunters, and finally he noticed the Elites, milling about talking with each other as well as the Egg Empire forces.
It took all his will and discipline just to keep himself from charging into there and destroying everyone and everything, the Covenant a enemy in which Alex and his team had fought against for so long, just to save humanity and protect earth and what remained of the colonies, were now allying themselves with Egg Empire forces to help Eggman take over Mobius, it angered him to his core. as well as confuse him, considering the Elites had been betrayed by the Prophets the head of the Covenant empire towards the end of the Covenant War, The elites in turn to this betrayal allied themselves with the UNSC and Humanity, which proved useful in helping to defeat the covenant in the final year of the war.
With this in mind Alex had a hard time understanding why these elites would do this, granted he had heard talk of Covenant remnant forces still against humanity and the UNSC, supposedly old habits die hard, but this was different these Covenant where fighting alongside "humans" against fellow humans as well as Mobians, Alex did understand after the covenant fractured and was defeated during the war, that the remains of covenant had either joined into a full time alliance with the UNSC, few went back to the old ways and went back to "war" with the UNSC, while the rest were unsure what to do now and simply went back to their home worlds.
And yet this right infront of Alex was enough proof that some covenant wanted to have a propose in this new era, even if it still meant fighting, suddenly Alex heard movement behind him, he turned pull out his knife, only to see it was Rouge, who been with him on recon this morning.
"Jesus Hon it's only me no need to be jumpy" Rouge said with low voice with the look of surprise to her face, "sorry Rouge you startled me" he said with a sigh and put his knife back in his sheath, he pointed to the encampment just past the tree line "there, I found them" he said.
"That's great Hon now we can report this back to HQ so we can plan our Attack." Rouge said with a smile, "Actually, look closer and you'll see why i'm so jumpy" Alex said still trying to come to terms with what he saw. Rouge did what Alex said and took a closer look and saw the covenant forces in the encampment below. "What who are they?" She asked confused, "they my dear Rouge are known as the covenant" he said with distain in his voice "they're the assholes I spent most of my life fighting until a few years ago, and they fact they're here on Mobius and are allying themselves with Eggman is alarming" he continued, "Well that's not good" Rouge said, she noticed how tense he was through armor and understood that if Alex saw these "covenant" as a threat they most likely were.
Alex composed himself, and looked to Rouge "ok we need to tell HQ about this ASPA, but we'll need to hold off on plan of attack, cause if they have forces ground side here, then that means they most likely have some of their own ships in orbit, and you thought Eggman's orbital navy was bad, then you ain't seen nothing yet, one covenant ship can do massive damage to a fleet of our ships, which means I now have get that long range coms fix sooner and put in a call to UNSC highcom and request for help / reinforcements, we just don't have that kind of fire power to take them on effectively", he said "but what about your ship it seems powerful enough too-" Rouge said, "the Shadow of Asheville is a powerful ship, but to take on what might be in orbit alone with out effective fire support is suicide, and even with the ships GUN has it won't be enough" he replied.
Suddenly AL appeared with his Tacpad with news "Good news Alex, I have the long range com up and running and in the nick of time too, there's Cove-", "Covenant Ships in orbit I know I suspected that" Alex said cutting off AL. "Now get me a Com link to HighCom ASPA we're gonna need Reinforcements fast" Alex said, he turned to Rouge and noticed she was already informing GUN HQ of what was going on, he sighed and thought to himself "Lord i'm tired of surprises you've thrown enough my way to last a life time."
