Another thing I've been keeping in my PC for a week or so. Like most things, I haven't made any progress with it during this time, and lost the drive to continue working on it. I'm kinda losing the drive to draw AT ALL, to be honest. So... yeah ._,
The character itself, however, is still of my interest. Obvious his name is Hanuman, he's a lord, a monkey, and based on the eponymous monkey god. He's intended to be part of a fantasy setting I've been writing, but much of him is inspired by the hindu fellow. Basically, some of his traits I decided on are:
- Golden child of the gods of Abhala. A chosen hero, Hanuman received boons from pretty much god at birth, which makes him absurdly OP in a variety of ways. Y'know, superstrong, immortal, immune to poison, fire, scabies, etc etc.
- To curb some of his immense power, the gods also imposed a curse upon him. Because of this curse, he only has the powers he remembers he has (i.e. he can fly, but only if he remembers and genuinely believes he can). He also has abysmal , almost Dory-tier memory - partly from the curse, partly from legit ADHD. Gets distracted very easily, and always acts before thinking.
- Childish, egocentric, and a MASSIVE douche, but not outright malicious. He never refuses help to those in need, and doesn't hesitate to put "bad guys" in their place. Gets bored and/or annoyed very easily, though, and never honors his promises (see above).
- Has his own kingdom, a secluded piece of land nested in mist-covered mountains. His subjects worship him, and he in turn helps them any way he can. It's a self-feeding system – he helps them, they sing praises about how awesome he is, he's reminded of how awesome he is, continue being awesome and helping them. The only downside is how it contributes to his somewhat-aloof, vain attitude.
- Likes to travel. Though one of his blessings is the ability to go anywhere with just a thought, Hanuman prefers to walk or fly. It may take - he lives for the journey, not the destination.
- Loves to discover new things. And touch them. And eat them. The likelihood of those increasing exponentially with how shiny said thing is.
And… that's pretty much it for now. Regarding the setting itself, he'd my first pick for a "protagonist" of sorts – a relatively "neutral" party, active enough to warrant interaction with the world, powerful enough to be able to go and do pretty much anything, yet with enough drawbacks to prevent boring invincible hero syndrome.
…It's kinda sad. All this theory I'm talking about, and it'll probably not amount to anything at all. Fuck me ;_;
