The Flyer variant Chiroptera, otherwise known as Hell Bats, are bats infected and mutated by the virus. In comparison to the standard avian variant, the size of them will vary depending on the host. The largest observed hell bat is comparable in size to the species P. vampyrus. Much like their avian counterparts, the preferred attack method is to dive bomb the target. In addition to dive bombing, they can also use their wings and fangs to attack. Another similarity shared between them is that Evolved can summon them as minions. What sets them apart other than appearance is that even without an Evolved, Hell Bats can form a pack leader. During the Pariah Pandemic of Equestria, many different creatures got infected with the Blacklight virus. With a variety of creatures present to infect, it seems like there is no ground in which the virus can't cover. When it comes to military technology, Equestria lags behind quite a bit. Another factor that is different from the human(prototype) world is the absence of a dedicated biosecurity division. Considering what is known about Equestria, the medical knowledge will likely differ in terms of available diseases. Prior to the link between their worlds being discovered, the Blacklight virus or an equivalent didn't exist in Equestria. With these factors in mind, the likeliness of a proper defense against the disease is low. What they lack in firearms and warheads, however, is compensated with their impeccable magic abilities and weather manipulation among other whimsical skills. When it comes to dealing with these bats, pegasi won't go down without a fight. Not only can the pegasi widen the gap between them and the bats, they have multiple options for disorienting foes(weather manipulation for instance). While all Flyers may have an aerial advantage, there is a reason they won't fly very low to the ground or even enter enclosed spaces. Besides weather, another extreme condition that no infected is able to handle is extreme heat. This is where dragons would excel. With these weaknesses in mind, the main target should be the Evolved or Pack Leader controlling the flock. Once they're taken care of, the Hell Bats will scramble to form a new leader. At this point, the flock will be the most vulnerable to any and all attacks. |
