Classic Sonic breaks down as he hears the reception of some of his future games and the mixed reception, sometimes even toxic. It was too much and Modern Sonic finds his past self crying. Classic thinks it's his fault that his games and reputation is declining and feels like he screwed up. And let everyone drag him down.
Modern had no idea what to say. He was about to cry as well. Modern pulls Classic into a hug as he sobs into his future self's chest.
"Why does everyone hate me...?" He asks in a broken voice.
Sonic's heart sank at that. He hugs his past self tighter.
"I don't know... I guess... there are just hateful people. I really don't know." Sonic says softly.
"Do my friends hate me?"
Sonic shook his head and strokes the past hedgehog's back.
"No. Never. They'll always be our friends. Even Shadow. We made some mistakes, we made bad choices, and stupid decisions... but we can learn and move on. We can make ourselves better." Sonic says. "So listen to me... it's not your fault. So please..."
Classic hugs Sonic as he heard his older self crying.
"Don't blame yourself... So... please... we're all here... we'll be with you."
