Drawn in February, and submitted to the Anthrocon art show (where it sold!). I'm really happy with the simple background in this, I feel like the muted beach colors really suit her well. Maybe I'll do more pictures of her at the beach; I certainly like drawing her in fashionable swimsuits.

I named this file "Josie in high school", so I think at the time this was to be her at a younger age. I don't think it shows though, ha.

You can't go wrong with pretty pink huskies. Josie looks absolutely adorable in her swimsuit, and the blue looks so pretty with her pink fur, too. The background looks fantastic! I love the way the sunlight is shimmering on the water, and you've really caught just the right look for a warm, summery beach, without making it look overwhelmingly hot as they sometimes do. I think the muted colors really do help with that. The shell necklace and hair pin she's wearing are so cute, and her expression is adorable. Plus her one question raises so many others, but in a very pleasant sort of way. You can imagine so many possibilities, from a cute boy (or girl?) asking her to spend time with them, to her being asked to play beach volleyball, to any number of other happy scenarios. It adds just a hint of story, which is always a lovely detail for any picture, I think.

I'd say a slightly younger age shows through, when you look at this piece alongside other work of her that you've posted, Mal.  It's subtle, but I think I would definitely peg this as younger than usual by comparison.

The colour balance compliments itself really well, I agree!
