This doesn't really help that she's been taking a mostly non-violent path through her adventure. I'm sure that Regis is more practiced in the art of war. This being said...I don't know, chuck the Gold Nugget at him, or try and use Sharp Scales since he seems to be the one at the aeriel disadvantage now.
