SJ, Serena and Chezzie's father was never really caring. He was distant after their birth, he mentally and physically abused the boys because they weren't strong enough to continue fighting. This led to SJ running away, only seeking comfort in abusive relationships and teen pregnancies.
How did this happen? This mainly occurred because the triplets were quadruplets. The fourth child was stillborn. This fucked Lance's mind up, he thought that the deceased child was actually the strongest.

Wrath admired the pictures on the mantlepiece, they looked stunning. A picture in particular caught his eye. It shows a dark gray hedgehog with orange-red quills and his face was quite scarred. The hedgehog in particular wore silver armour.
"How did Shadow recover from those scars?" Wrath asked to the blue hedgehog.
"That's not Shadow....it's their father." Sonic replies softly, holding the picture.
"Lance? But he hurt you and your kids!" Wrath purses.
"Yes, well, he was appointed to my mom's guard 2 years prior to their birth. We never really had a relationship until a year later... he was 7 years older than I, but I was nearing 19." Sonic mutters, absentmindedly caressing his former lover's cheek.
"You really loved him, huh?" Wrath uttered.
"Of course I loved him, I wouldn't even try to have kids if I didn't." He forced a smile slightly, before regaining a pained frown.
