I have a basic idea now for the relationship dynamic between Kurai, her brother Daku, Lilith and Geoffrey for when they were younger.
Idea is as follows: Kurai, Daku, Geoffrey and Lilith are all close childhood friends. Kurai was really timid, Lilly being hot headed and blunt, always protected her. Leads them to being mates from 6th grade to around 9-10th grade. Kurai and Daku both had to leave though due to a sort of "Witness Protection Program" for Kurai's family secret, which almost gets uncovered. The twist: Kurai, Geoffrey and Lilly were so close to one another that it could have ended in an open relationship The result: Geoffrey and Lilly get close and end up dating and becoming mates while they both try to cope with the sudden disappearance of their friends. Also decided that Kurai and her brother do have electrical based powers, but only in their normal forms Their "were" forms cannot use their powers
