I love imagining how in the Pokemon world people would approach certain issues or daily life alongside Pokemon. I don't however like pokemon being depicted as malevolent as a whole and mixing those two things together was the basis of this picture. Hypno as a species often been depicted as scary or just plain bad. I wanted one shown in a more positive light as a hypnotist at a hospital where he does lot of good alongside other Pokemon like a haunter who makes sure patients who often have nightmares get a dreamless, but most importantly restful sleep and a Medicham who help with physical therapy among others.
I just discovered something funny, here is the pokedex entry for Hypno in Ultra Moon: "There are some Hypno that assist doctors with patients who can't sleep at night in hospitals." I find this rather amusing since I had this image made completely unaware of this particular pokedex entry.
