Drawn in 1999. This was my first attempt at the lovely dragoness, Argentilane! I love the way her face came out! I recall trying to balance a longer neck than I was used to with her figure.
At the time, I think I vastly preferred the human kind of schema as far as body plans go. This neck was very long, when I was thinking in terms of a "human" schema. I was not used to thinking in terms of more animal-like schemas, such as "anthro dragon" meaning "should have a long, serpentine neck".
When I reviewed my descriptions on my old art archive DVD, I'd default into giving myself a hard time, self-deprecation, or doubt over my past decisions. When I sit and actually try to recall why I did a thing the way I did, I can almost always arrive at an accurate conclusion for why I did it. Man, it's hard to read someone beating themselves up just ONCE; it's been so hard to read past-me doing this to myself hundreds upon hundreds of times.
