A sketch commission done for me by a very talented artist known as 'BetsyTheBeaver'! I’ve always been a huge fan of her artwork; so much Classic-Disney and Don Bluth vibes! If you haven’t seen her work yet, do yourself a favour and go for it. You won’t regret it!
Anyways, I’ve recently thought up an alternate crossover universe (ACU for short) where anthro and feral animals live together (in modern times, of course) and can actually communicate with one another. Although they have different social boundaries, especially considering their anatomical differences. I’ll go into more detail about this universe in the future.
Maid Marian (from “Robin Hood”), who works as a nurse at the city hospital, is tasked by the orphanage/nursery ward to take care of a baby Tod (from “The Fox and the Hound”), who is touched with a small noncontagious fever. After failing to find a blanket to wrap him up in, Marian suddenly looks down at the poofy new skirt of her dress and decides that it would make a good substitute. And so it did! And of course, as pictured above, Tod is being fed a warm bottle of milk by his newfound foster mother, and bundled up safely in her ‘sick day blanket’, hence the title of this commission.
I remember seeing this idea before somewhere years ago, and I found it to be so adorable.
There are three versions. The first one being the final draft colored in by myself, and the others being the final draft in b/w and a first draft with Marian without the headdress and Tod looking a little bigger than I expected and not bundled up.
