"Gather around!"Cy purred to the kits.
"What is it Cy?"One asked and the others echoed it.
"Have I ever told you about the legend?"Cy asked the kits. Cy was laying in an alleyway were cats of all ages came to him to listen to his stories. The kits shook their heads no,"Then this story will be a treat."Cy purred,folding his large,feathered wings to his sides as he lay down,his tail close to his side as well.
"The Legend was the very first to escape from a facility,it was a hybrid thanks to the humans. No one remembers what it looked like,nor does anyone remember it's gender,I was told this story a million times in the facility I was in,apparently it was the same one the Legend escaped from."
"What was the Legend? Species wise?"The first kit asked.
"Ah,the Legend was a catolfgon."Cy said with some difficulty.
"Wha?!"All the kits voice confused.
"A cat,wolf,dragon,"Cy answered,"The legend looked like a cat,presumably it's base gene,but it's size and tail resembled that of a wolf."Cy paused,"The legend had magnificent wings of a dragon. Where the wings curved there was one,single,large,white spike on both wings,some call them claws,and on the other part of the wings were four black spikes,separated from each other,mirroring the other wing."
"But how'd it escape?"The second kit asked.
"Yeah,how'd the legend escape?"The other kits chimed in.
"I'm getting there."Cy chuckled,"Be patient."A cold breeze blew through the alleyway as a shadow fell across Cy and the kits.
"My I listen?"A feminine voice asked.
Cy turned his to look at the voice who had spoken. He saw a almost black cat. Her ears started white at the tips,changed to violet,then white,then violet,and finally white. Fur fell over her right eye,the same pattern as her ears,but only copied once and the white intersecting the violet's path from where it started. Her paws were the same as the rest of her,but the white and violet where like arrows on her paws. Lastly came her tail,which was curled neatly around her paws,the tail was fluffy,and with big violet arrows,separated,tail tip,middle,and near the end of her tail,not yet reaching the base.,"Um,sure."Cy said warily to the female,she looked exactly like the legend,but he brushed it off as something else. But then he looked into her eyes,violet,the legend had violet eyes. Once again,Cy brushed it off as nothing more then his imagination.
"Alright,"Cy said continuing,"It's said the legend could shift between the sizes of her genes,to blend in more,to make themselves less obvious, the legend had the reflex and agility of a cat,the endurance and loyalty of a wolf,and ferocity and FIRE of a dragon. Some cat told me they tried to put the legend down,but failed when they realized that the rest of her took on all three genes at once. The legend had two layers of fur,like a wolves's and that her skin was as thick and hard as scales. That day,the humans sparked a restless anger deep inside the legend."
"An anger fueled by betrayal and hate for mankind."The female spoke,surprising Cy and the kits ,the female's eyes resembled that of a dragon's,yet still retaining that of a cats,her eyes were narrowed slits filled with burning hatred.
"Y-you're the legend!"Cy gasped out,quickly jumping to his paws before lowering his head,"T-they said you were dead...."he didn't make any eye contact,scared as to white he might find.
The legend scratched her ear,licking a snake like tongue over her jaws,"Please,call me Corbeau."She said,licking her paw,her tongue now cat like,"They killed a morph-er."Corbeau responded.
"Well...um....t-that's good to know."Cy cleared his throat.
"Keep going,"Corbeau purred,"I'm interested in how other animals tell the story."
Cy nodded,laying down once again,"When that anger was sparked,the legend's whole demeanor changed,no longer did it want to be nice,no longer did it listen to the humans,it's teeth no longer looked like cat's teeth or and animal's teeth,the bottom row of teeth,except for the canines,angled inwardly,posed to grip their prey in their jaws and cause more damage when the prey tried to pull themselves free."
"One of the humans had lost a hand,another an eyes,other lost their lives."Corbeau said darkly.
Cy nodded,"Animals were spared,humans where killed,they tried to contain her,shooting her with sedatives,only make her anger grow to the point where the sedatives bounced off her fur,which was then,turning into thick scales,the legend was starting to slowly resemble a dragon as its fur vanished slowly,its jaws growing bigger and teeth growing sharper as it made it's way to the field were military men where waiting for it. They were not prepared for what they saw,nor where they equipped,they instantly called for back up before they were brutally killed."
"Helicopters,tanks,and jets came,along with heavy artillery,they only succeeded in fueling my rage and anger."Corbeau hissed lowly.
"And that's where it ends,no animal wanted to talk about what happened after that,many too traumatized from what they saw to speak of it."Cy said sadly.
"But the legend can tell us!"One of the kits purred,turning to face Corbeau.
"Very well."Corbeau said,giving a curt nod,"When the backup arrived,I had destroyed the entire facility,freeing caged animals and protecting them from being recaptured again,I cared not for human casualties,they could all burn for all I'd care,I was blinded by my own rage,but I wasn't fully transformed into the beast that wanted to be free. The humans shot their guns at me,but the bullets only bounced off my thick scales,my anger had reached its peak and I was engulfed in an explosion,I thought I was dead as everything went blank,but as the smoke cleared,I found myself in a new body,a dragon's body,my pattering was the same. As I looked over the aftermath of the explosion,I saw dying animals,and that's when I snapped,fire exploded like a turret from my roaring jaws,my wings splayed out as I took flight over the helicopters and jets. I could smell their fear as I towered above them,I then flew back down,grabbing one of the tanks in my huge paws,throwing it at a helicopter. I cared not for the humans,but the animals that still had to escape from the destruction. I breathed turrets of fire at my enemies. Once I was sure they were all gone,I turned back to look amongst the rubble of the facility,to see if anyone survived. There were some survivors,barely breathing,but savable. I carefully took them in my jaws,I could hear more humans coming,I wasted no time in getting away."Corbeau finished,"I must go,"She said standing up,"I never stay in one place for long." And with that,Corbeau spread her dragon like wings.
"Wait!"Cy called out. Corbeau turned her head an looked at him,"I have a friend named Russet,I haven't spoke to him in a long time,I was hoping you could find him and tell him how I'm doing."Corbeau looked at Cy for a moment,rolling his request in her mind before she nodded and flew off.
