A new character of mine, created to match my friend Anolise's new Cutie Patotie. Also I was interested in learning some new body shapes, particularly horse bodies, bird talons, and wings. I promise not to complain about having to draw wings!
He's the first successful mating of a stallion and a female eagle, performed through a modified griffin breeding charm. He's about the size of an Arabian horse, but considerably lighter weight due to his avian heritage lightening his bone structure. Previous attempts to couple a male eagle with a mare resulted in larger offspring with denser bones, making it more difficult to lift off and stay in the air- they preferred staying on the ground rather than developing talents of flight.
Hippogryphs have been found to be considerably calmer and more obedient than the similarly bred griffon (bird/cat hybrids), due to the influence of their horse heritage over the fickle nature of cats.
He was created by a reclusive wizard in experimentation with new forms of breeding charms, to develop new and more impressive hybrids. Several of his siblings were sold off to wealthy patrons, but the wizard kept his original success in his service. He is often sent along with Anolise to deliver and pick up packages off the normal teleportation lanes.
