Darkness does things to your heart. Aqua was seeing illusions of her pain Terra being norted and Ven still being comatosed. She could only watch and not do anything to save them. I feel the same thing is happening to Mickey. What if deep down Mickey doesn't think he can save his friends and now the darkness is feeding off that.
I know they can be saved. Aqua, Ven, Terra, Eraqus, Ansem, Roxas and even Xion. Don't give up and keep the light burning strong.
