Brian was born in a puppy farm in Austin Texas, and was adopted by the Griffins when he was just a puppy.

His mother was a White Lab named Biscuit. He is currently owned by Peter, Lois (Pewterschmidt), Meg, Chris and Stewie Griffin. He has a gay cousin named Jasper, and a younger brother named Vinny (who temporarily replaced him as the family dog in Season 12).
