When I first brought Poppy into my home and life, I bought some Gyshal Greens, which as I understand are Chocobo food, with her. Some times I experiment with stuff, and turns out the soil in the garden kind of sucked up power from the space I live in. Thus they became new hybrids that Poppy would refine and extract into making children's vitamins. She later branched out, make it in fluid form and many others, hence why the liver Rubble and Everest were eating is that red purple shade rather than the rick brown liver normally has.
As for where she got the idea, I have molds in my lab that I use to generally have fun with compounds and the like and sometimes enjoy the simplicity of fucking around such as making a highly volatile explosive that reacts with water shaped like a teddy bear or baby bottle.
