Little Sparkles in the sky
Once upon a time, there was a young star named Little Sparkles. Every night, Little Sparkles shined its light, and children from across the land were amazed by its beauty and they all admired it. But the young star was holding feelings of sadness in its heart, for among the children in the land, there was a small boy who was gravely ill. The child was his mother's only son, and she was too poor to afford any medical assistance. But despite the child's sickness, the boy stuck his head out of the window in his room every night to admire Little Sparkles as it shined its light in the sky. And every night, while the boy stood there by his window, he wished for a miracle. And every night, Little Sparkles heard the child's wishes and mourned in silence.
One morning, when all the stars returned home to the heavenly realms, Little Sparkles heard a voice calling its name. It was the voice of the goddess of creation, because she could feel the sadness Little Sparkles was holding inside, and she too could hear the boy's wishes for a miracle every night. "There is a special bond between you and the human child", said the goddess of creation. "My dear lady", responded Little Sparkles, "he is as special to me as I am to him." And there was indeed a special bond, for it was that child the one who gave Little Sparkles the name, a name he gave with all the love in his sick and weakened heart. "The human life begins and it ends", said the goddess of creation. "But my lady", added Little Sparkles, "they believe in miracles and a child with a heart so innocent and pure must not remain unheard." Little Sparkles loved the child as deeply and as genuinely. "I am willing to give my own light to save him", Little Sparkles continued saying as tears of sadness were beginning to flow. "My dear and sweet star", exclaimed the goddess of creation, "are you willing to give your light to save a human child that may grow to forget you entirely?" she asked. "There is no love without sacrifice", answered the star, "if I have the power to change anything for good, no matter how big or how small, then I would like to help", Little Sparkles continued saying. Amazed and touched, the goddess of creation smiled and she gave Little Sparkles a warm hug goodbye. "You have proven your love to be true and unlike any other", said the goddess, "so be it."
When night arrived, all the stars came out to garnish the sky, and all the children in the land came out to admire them. But no child noticed that Little Sparkles was absent, only the little boy who was once gravely ill could tell. The miracle was granted, the boy recovered and he grew to become an adult. But he never forgot about the little star he named Little Sparkles, and every night he hoped for its return. "The sky is not as beautiful without you", cried the young man, "I wish you could be there again to garnish my sky." And the goddess of creation heard the wishes, and she granted them. Little Sparkles became the brightest of all stars, for there is no love without sacrifice, and there is no sacrifice without reward.
