So this is the first official scetch of Deverton.
He will become one of the main characters and will make his first appearance in chapter 6 if anything works right.

So.. he is a human.
He acts like a noble, but basicly has nothing. His favourite weapon is his rifle. But he is also good in swordarts.
I don't want to spoil to much about him, thou I can allready say that he will become the second most important character in the comic behind Madlaine.

I'm also quite happy to manage drawing a human face so well in my first real try. When I draw humans more in the comic I am sure he will also look better in time.

interesting choice to base the gun off the BAR, is that the final design choice?? :)

I have actually no idea. i took a picture from the net about guns from the first world war and tryed to draw it. No idea what weapon it is and how effective it is.
Actually I don't know anything about guns. I am not even sure if I would identify an AK if I would see it next to other guns. THAT!
That is how much I am interested in guns.

I think the only gun I would recognise is a german Luger and a Tommygun (with the barrel magazin). Anything else is a pistol, a revolver, rifle, maschine gun or a shootgun to me. (next to the more recogniceable things like an RPG or a Minigun)

thou I think I have too learn the basic mechanics of a gun to draw, even sort of realistic looking guns.

You did a good job.
The Browning automatic rifle... I think came out 1918 was introduced late in we was an automatic rifle/ light machine gun for individual infantry use.
It generally carried 20 round magazine and became famous for its wide use by us forces in ww2.
Your rendition is cool but I'd be interested in seeing how you incorporate your gems into it.
