This picture is a scan of a pic I made several months ago before going on to a family reunion on a cruise ship. One of my distant relatives, a cousin, was having what my aunt describes as a Golden Birthday. On a Golden Birthday an individual turns the age that matches the date of their birth (i.e. turning the age of 12 on the 12th of March). I was asked by my aunt to give a present involving the color gold and the suggestions were easily out of my price range. LOL. ^\/^.
I then asked to simply do a drawing and she asked to do a golden dirt bike since her son likes to bike outside. I had not the time to color a pic at that time and I had no intention in learning to draw bikes as well. Instead I drew what I can draw best and ended up drawing a golden eagle warrior. To make it look more cool, I drew the golden eagle warrior with a really big sword that makes giddy any normal kid to preteen this day and age. Despite the well done detail, this picture was actually done surprisingly fast from start to finish in three days time. On the day before leaving for the cruise, finishing up this picture, I managed to finish and scan it in good time. ^\/^.
After being on my computer for a bit, I recently rediscovered this picture, along with a few others done around that time, and finally cleaned it up for uploading as a final picture. For this cleanup and presentation, I used my new Photoshop CS6 program which is better, and works a tad differently than my older Photoshop Elements 7.0 program. ^\/^.
To make the character look more like a golden eagle, as opposed to the usual eagle types i draw, I gave him a more feral looking feathered head and arms. As well, I drew the beak a slight different than what I usually draw them. I am sure that I would be the only one that would notice that one, LOL. Lastly, to make him seem young, I gave him a brash like expression in his eyes and beak. The clothing was made as it is shown by spur of the moment decisions with no time to figure what goes where, or what inspired it to begin with. The result is rather original looking. The difficult part was the sword. Going as fast as I was, I had to be careful not to mess up on the long slender lines and the effects to make it seem as though it is shining and with a sheen as though it is highly polished. ^\/^.
