This is a picture of the almighty god Ra from the Egyptian Pharaonic Parthenon. He has been portrayed as a falcon or a hawk. And he has been also been shown as a man with a hawk or falcon head. His body is usually shown as strong looking due in part of Ra being a patron of warriors and heroes among other things, including creation.
According to the ancient myths of Egypt, Ra created all of existence. He rose the lands and made this and that, etc. The mighty Nile and the river of stars in the sky (aka the Milky Way) was created by Ra pleasing himself. And from the streaming waters rose the rest of the first tier of gods, Osiris, Isis, Seth, Thoth and others. And from them came the creation of other gods, animals and eventually humans. ^\/^.
