This is the final finished new masterpiece. I am very happy with how it turned out and hope to do more art of this quality, and in a faster time. LOL. ^\/^.
The background was made with the help of my old Punch! Home Architectural Series that I have found while reorganizing my room and software. I was originally going to do a more hand made background, but I figured why not use the software since it is a heck lot more quicker with better rendering and accurate perspective on the buildings. LOL. ^\/^.
The buildings originally had much more detail on them, but, when I added the pic to the background, I found that it had too much detail and conflicted with the pic of D. Dan. So I redid it with solid colors and added details manually with my Manga Computations Vol. 2 Software that I also used on the details on D. Dan. That way it conflicts much less, plus the sky looks a lot better manually as opposed to a quality that was something about a decade ago. LOL. ^\/^.
I left the pavement intact. Though, I must admit, I choose a different pavement since the other one was too realistic and did not go well with the rest of the colors in the pic. It was a really nice Italianate red pavement, but red does not go well with the rest of the elements of the pic. LOL. ^\/^.
In short, the background is a small section of what I have in my mind as D. Dan's university where he is training to be a knight (a.k.a. super hero). This section would be one of the training grounds where one can battle it out in a large and open area.
The buildings in the back house a few class rooms and other type of rooms. The tower to the far right is a viewing tower that allows certain instructors to view the entire training grounds unobstructed. The tower in the middle houses the stair well for the building as well as a few bells that help tell the time.
The building in the middle also houses the main class rooms for the knights and their instructors as well as the instructors' main offices. The rooms are a bit on the small side, compared to most universities, since all instructors have, at most, seven students and spend more time outside than inside. LOL. ^\/^.
The building to the far left houses storage for various training equipment and such. The building in the far back next to the large tower is a commons room for the student knights. There is another building that can not be seen since it is behind the middle building that houses a small cafeteria. It is not the main one, but a close one for a bit of a snack and such. Student knights get hungry after a good training after all. LOL. ^\/^.
The style of architecture is a mix between Medieval English, Gothic Revival, Florentine Renaissance and Post Modern styles. The colors used are the colors of the royal crest of the ruling monarch and are the main colors of many of the buildings in the royal capital city that the university takes place in. Those colors are evergreen, gold and ivory white.
The idea for this university, and D. Dan's story, is like a cross between Naruto, Bleach, The Guin Saga, Tales of Vesperia and Final Fantasy.
I say Naruto for the reason that many of the residents of the capital city (about 20 percent) are knights of differing rank and abilities like the ninja in the show. Also, the younger knights are still learning a great deal and the powers they use in their style of fighting are greatly exaggerated to the point of, in our world, being super human like the fighters in Naruto. The difference between Naruto and D. Dan's world is that it revolves more around a large number of styles of fighting in large cities as opposed to just the ninjutsu arts in small cities and expansive wilderness. LOL.
I mention Bleach since the powers of the knights are centered around their weapons (with the addition of clothing and knightly capes in D. Dan's world). Also, even though there is a lot of old elements. In the instance of D. Dan's world it is feudal Europe and chivalry as opposed to feudal Japan and the culture therein. In D. Dan's world there are a number of old elements other than feudal Europe. It is just that the city he resides in uses that style whereas many other cites have their own from many other cultures. Another reason I compare with Bleach is that there are real world like locations and modern cultures and fads along our current time line. For example, imagine a knight taking off his cape for a passing lady so that she would not wet her feet on a puddle and then ask not long after if she wants to go and out and chill at the local club. LOL. ^\/^.
I say The Guin Saga for the reason that I imagine the anime that D. Dan would be in, if I ever make one revolving around D. Dan's world, to be ultra high definition in its quality. Also, I imagine D. Dan's world to have a large number of different cultures ranging from idealistic classical, medieval and Renaissance eras melding harmoniously together. ^\/^.
I say Tales of Vesperia for the reason that the cites I imagine in D. Dan's world all have magical barriers and that most citizens live inside the cities. The reason is that there are a lot of monsters in the wilderness. There is not as much monsters as in the Tales of Vesperia, but enough to keep most citizens inside the large cities and settlements. Also there is a pilgrimage to be made by all knights in D. Dan's world like in the Tales of Vesperia storyline. Though the barriers are not relied upon by scarce and highly controlled resources in D. Dan's world as is in the Tales of Vesperia story line. LOL. ^\/^.
Lastly I say Final Fantasy since D. Dan's world has a technology that surpasses our era of understanding as well as items and abilities that delve in the realm of magic and divination. Also, there are items that wield together both ultra future technology and magic with incredible looks. I also mention this comparison for the reason that the locations tend to be beautiful and epic looking in either the styles of architecture or simply due to natural beauty. Also there are a lot of monsters. LOL. ^\/^.
I would Also like to note that D. Dan's sword is rendered in a way I prefer it to look. His sword blade is made of a special crystal that allows the blade to stretch by making and growing more triangular sections. The stretching also allows the blade to extend to extraordinary lengths while retaining the same weight as before allowing unprecedented sweeps and speeds of the blade for its length. The section growth is also used as a method of repair if the blade were to be broken in some way. ^\/^.
The blade also has other abilities allowed to it due to its triangular sections. The blade can be bent at each section which allows the blade to take on any shape and angle almost making it seem like a whip at times. LOL. ^\/^.
The sections can also be detached at will and act as projectiles sending the detached piece flying like a large bladed bullet to the enemy. High ranking users of that ability have enough control over their sword to make each projectile to be controlled and / or make it act as a homing bullet forever following its target until it finally hits. LOL. ^\/^.
The blade can also vibrate at high speeds which allows it to cut better. High users of that ability, along with moving each section upon each side of the main blade area, can make their sword act like long and thin chainsaws. LOL. ^\/^.
There are also stages in blocking with D. Dan's sword. The first is the standard kind found in your every day style of fencing. Another is one using the bending ability of the blade that allows for more all around and maneuverability in blocking. The last one uses the detached sections method that makes for perfect blocking since each piece blocks every attack at high speeds. LOL. ^\/^.
D. Dan has three styles of sword play. The first is Fencing Style which allows high speeds and agility. The second is Epee Style that allows Dan to make heavy and powerful attacks and comes with better endurance and harder to break blocking abilities. ^\/^.
The last style is Celestial Epee Style that allows D. Dan to literally make two blades instead of one. This style has all the abilities of the previous two styles but with much greater enhancements. Also, each of the new blades are different. One is like a sharp blade of pure and unbreakable and unbending blue ice that has a temperature of absolute zero and can project ice and lightning attacks. The other blade would be made of constantly moving and unstoppable fire and plasma at unnaturally high temperatures and can cut and burn through any imaginable surface. The trouble with this last style is that it can not last very long and much training must be made to make the time last longer. Any use beyond the user's ability is is very damaging to the body and has a fifty fifty chance causing life long injury or death. Such method is used in case of extreme duress and / or emergency. This form of style is often released by removing the cape (or some other method involving the armor) while the users' weapon is turned on and in full use. D. Dan's is by removing the cape and his time length for said final style is 40 seconds thus far. LOL. ^\/^.
