First off, I honestly expected to color this for Halloween. Unfortunately I had to write a paper (with 25 references) and simply forgot about this. I just remembered about it and figured it would be best to color this now as opposed during Christmas time. LOL. ^\/^.
This is the colored version of this picture here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/1861793/ . It is basically an ancient goat / ram anime style demon. It is one of my really early drawings from a year ago and is on page five of my main gallery. As perspective, I have yet to fill the sixth page yet. LOL. ^\/^.
It is also a small picture taking an area less than the palm of my hand only to be blown up to increase the size. It was originally a doodle, but I kept it since I was just experimenting seriously at the time in the anime genre for the first time. ^^.
In the colored version I added to the neck to include the neckline and a small portion of the upper chest. Since it was a small picture, and just a head, it did not take me long to color. The red markings were a last minute decision to make it look more anime. Many anime characters on occasion have markings on the head. Even Okami wouldn't be much of a game if the main character didn't get those markings. To think it was meant to be a plain white wolf in 3D. LOL. ^\/^.
The markings were made by morphing shapes. For the ones around the eye I morphed a 'triangle', then copied it and flattened with the original after rotating it. I then morphed it again. For the markings around the crystal in the middle of the head I morphed a 'talking balloon' shape in solid color like with the triangle. I then morphed an 'blocky arrow' shape then rotated, sized and flattened with the 'talking balloon' shape. I then morphed that layer. To repeat on the other side I simply copied and pasted the two new shapes and then flipped them. Saves time, aye. LOL. ^\/^.
I read in several books on anime characters that, of the variety of demons and such, the more powerful ones tend to look beautiful and yet frightening at the same time. Either that or simply more human and innocent looking as opposed to their previous states that looked more monstrous. But, on those occasions, it tends for demons and monsters that have different forms or stages to their powers. For those that do not have stages, and what not, they tend to be beautiful and frightening at the same time.
For the demon I drew I made him beautiful by making his horns kind of sparkly and glowing. I also made his fur white which is a contradiction since white denotes purity, and this demon is not pure. I used blue lines which is a similar contradiction. The wickedness and frightening part is the blood red diamond in his forehead, which also denotes vanity, and the sharpness of the markings around the eyes and jewel. The number and shape of the horns also denotes evil. There certainly is a lot of symbolism and such in this one head. LOL. ^\/^.
In the background I have added a weak halo as a suggestion that this demon was once good. I also made the pupils of the eyes round to show the same thing. If the demon was never good then the pupils would not be round nor would he even come close to having a halo. If this demon was evil in all its existence it would have eyes like a cat, solid eyes or just a pupil. All in all this demon is clearly a fallen angel thus making this one rather ancient since the most ancient of demons were once angels that fell. ^\/^.
Just to recap, I meant to have this done in time for Halloween. Just thought I mentioned it again. LOL. ^\/^.
Traditional ink drawing that has been scanned and digitally cleaned, filters added to smooth the lines and then digitally colored with added filters for effects. (finished).
