Chapter 1: Group Effort

It’s been a couple days, and I’ll be honest… I can’t stop thinking about how easy it was bringing down that IMC fortress. It’s like it just took the beating on purpose… did the IMC send it on a suicide mission? Maybe a distraction, or maybe the commander got sick of all his minions and sent them to die with barely any defences… I’ve heard stories of IMC Warlords disposing of unwanted pests that way.
“Hey, something eating away at you?” Cassie interrupted my train of thought… I was sitting on my bed in the living quarters, not even combat ready.
“Yeah… just that damn IMC fortress we took down…” I sighed.
“Well, you're in luck, Davis has a special assignment for us. Someone.” Cassie smiled. I took a minute to get my gear ready and followed Cassie to the Starfire’s command bridge.
“Ah, there you two are. Hopefully you're ready to get your feet wet, again.” Davis smirked.
“Don’t tell me… are we going back to that water planet?” I asked.
“You guessed it, and fun fact, we got a strong setup for this drop. You two, along with Arrowhead and Scorch, and gonna accompany myself and Droz to the planet. We got some scans that hint at something big in the water.” Davis explained.
“Wow… so my suspicions were right…” I rubbed my chin.
“Well, don't just stand there! Me and Droz will meet you in the hanger, Titanfall in 10 minutes, understood?” Davis explained.
“Yes sir!” Both myself and Cassie saluted in usion, then made our way tot hanger.

As we reached the Hanger, I could see all six of our Titans, all decked out for Underwater travel. Jump Jets, Grapple Hooks, sealed Cockpits with massive Oxygen Tanks… apparently designed to filter the gas right outta the water for a seemly limitless supply, so long as they don’t get damaged, even our weapons were being designed for water use… minus Scorch’s Scorch of course… he needs a whole new weapon.
Speaking off, Arrowhead and Scorch were already waiting for us… and Scorch seemed a little bummed out about his Titan. Pretty much all of the fire components had to be replaced with water filters and heat sinks. But hey, he gets a missive spear cannon thing now. Davis and Droz finally reached us, carrying armored diving suits.
“You guys might want these, just in case.” Droz announced. Everyone rolled their eyes and went off to change, then we meet back after a few minutes.
“We all look ridiculous…” I mumbled looking around… we all looked like underwater clowns.
“Yeah well at least you won't drown if you're Titan gets damaged. Davis chimed in.
“Alright everyone, cut the chatter… load up in the dropship, asap!” Droz announced. We all ran to our Titans, already prepared in the Dropship.
“Welcome aboard polit, all systems online. Ready for Deep Sea combat.” legion reported.
“Glad to hear it buddy… this is gonna be interesting.” I cracked my knuckles as we lifted off… the big blue planet in the distance.

Chapter 2: Under The Sea

“Alright, team… standby for Titanfall!” Droz’s voice echoed in my ears as the Dropship let us go. As we fell, the ocean opened up with rocket and laser fire.
“Whoa… whoa whoa… what the hell?” Davis shouted, just barely avoiding a rocket.
“Seems like the IMC really is hiding something under the water… looks like they got Sam Sites and Laser Turrets deployed on every little rock they could find.” Cassie Observed. Just then, my Titan took a laser to the left arm.
“Damage minimal, but be cautious.” Legion reported. I took a deep breath and kept my eyes on the water. We hit the surface of the water and sank to the ocean floor, and the gunfire stopped, giving us some breathing room.
   “Alright, damage report…” Daviz announced.
“Left arm took a hit, armor still intact.” I reported.
“Torso took a nasty rocket salvo… I should be alright.” Scored replied.
   “I’m clean.” Cassie stated.
“Ugh… I think one of my Oxygen Generators took a hit…” Arrowhead heafhearly mumbled.
“Good thing you got two of them. I’m clean across the board.” Droz concluded.
“Good, cause we got enemy Titans coming in, directly in front!” Davis pointed ahead, and sure enough, at least a Dozen IMC titans, outfitted just like ours, slowly marched towards us.
“Alright guys, spread out and find whatever cover you can, and remember, Titan Efficiency is greatly reduced Underwater.” Droz shouted, and we got combat ready. I lifted Legion’s cannon and opened fire, the bullets screaming as fast as they can though the water. I can only imagine how much the engineers on the Spitfire had to overclock our weapons just to get the velocity high enough… but I had bigger things on my plate right at this moment. At the very least, I got the IMC pilots to think twice before charging us. Reloading my canon, I hid behind one of the rock formations. Off to the right, Cassie fired off a Laser Shot, but it burned off before it could do anything… leaving a trail of bubbles that quickly faded away.
“Ugh… this is ridiculous! Barely any of our weapons systems work!” I could see her crossing her arms in her cockpit as a Tone salvo slowly crawled through the water, harmessely bouncing off her Titan’s torso.
“I did say Titan Efficiency was reduced Underwater….” Droz reminded her. Then I got an ida, I holstered legion’s Cannon and started a wide flank.
“What are you… what is he doing!?” Arrowhead asked.
“Just keep me covered!” I shouted back. The others shrugged and tried their best to do any damage whatsoever. Meanwhile, I ran on the outskirts of the rock formation I was hiding behind, and rused the Enemy Tone from the right flank. Ripping the 40.MM cannon out of it’s hand, I spun him around and gave him a 1-2 punch right in the cockpit, cracks formed and water started pouring in. In the Pilot's panic, he hit the ejection switch that really just pushed him out into the water a couple feet, who then pulled out a Thunderbolt off hit back and took aim. As soon as he fired, the bolt itself almost doubled in size, the water acting as a conductor. Poor bastard got fried by his own weapon before it care screaming towards me and because of the sluggish movement underwater, I was lucky to twist myself around so it hit my Titan in the back other then the arm. My Titan’s movements became ever slower until it completely stopped in place. Damn supercharged bolt bust of forced a shutdown.
“Hey, what’s going on up there?” Droz asked.
“My Titan got shut down by a Thunderbolt shot… since we are in water, it must of been supercharged as soon at it fired.” I explained, trying my best to power back up.
“Oh god… we are about to have bigger problems…” Scorch pointed back to the fortress. I turned my head and my eyes went wide in fear… a giant, at least 100 ton Titan stomped out of the main doors of the underwater facility. It was covered head to toe in thick armor and even had a skull shaped cockpit.
“Fucking A….” I mumbled to myself. Starting to panic, I tried desperately to power up again as 100 Tons of Fun was bearing me down.

Chapter 3: Close Calls

To no avail, I tried desperately to power up… but no matter how hard I tried, nothing worked. I looked back to the Death machine as it held up a had, and launched a dozen rockets at expermily high velocity, cutting through the water like butter. As the rockets hit, my Titan fell over like nothing… and the left arm was severed. Finally, I started powering up… but it was too late… one of the Enemy Tones slammed on the ocean floor in front of me… lifted up a fist… and I closed my eyes.

To my shock, I opened an eye to see the Tone in a smouldering werck. Towering to my right, was Cassie’s Titan.
“Jet, quick, eject!” I could hear her voice… I shocked myself back into reality, but instead, stood back up. “Wait, what are you doing?” She shouted.
“Distracting tall dark and Ugly…” I replied, charging. Even with only one Titan arm, I smaches my way through the lighter targets, pushing them out of my way as I bore down the main target. As soon as I got near, the 100 ton Titan just grabbed me by the other arm, ripped it clean off, and smashed me right in the cockpit with it. The glass shattered, and I covered my face to avoid getting shrapnel in the eye. After recovering, I swam out of my Titan as it fell behind me, completely destroyed. I grabbed the back of the enemy and looked around for a battery… the only thing is, there was like five of the damn things up here. I tried grabbing the nearest one, but as soon as I pulled it a bit, a electronic countermeasure zapped my arm, forcing me to let go and drift away a bit. But no way was I out of ideas… aiming my grappling hook, I attacked onto the same battery. Pulling as hard as I could, I popped the battery out, sending a feedback shock down the enemy Titan. He turned around… unimpressed. But hey, I finally get a look at the Polit now… a big buff dude with a massive thick bered. He took a swing at me, narrowly missing me as a swarm of bubbles rushed just above my head, causing a current that carried me away. I clicked the battery to my belt and grappled to a nearby rock, that sent me fly- I mean swimming away, I fired another hook and attached to Cassie’s Titan, grabbing the back of it.
“NEVER do that again.” Her stern but worried voice filled my earpiece. I rolled my eyes, swapping her titan’s old battery for the fresh one, throwing the old one out to sea.
“Great performance en’ all… but that didn't do much!” Droz admitted. We looked back just to see more Titans, as well as the big boy, still advancing towards us.
“To hell with this, I’m calling the retreat…” Davis sighed and got on comms. “Starfire, this is Davis, we are outmatched and are in need of Evac, how copy?” Davis shouted into comms.
“Davis, this is Starfire… we read you loud and clear, sending you a location for pickup, get there fast, eh?” A voice replied.
“Roger that Starfire, davis out.” Davis replied after looking over the location. “Evac is 12 clicks from where we came, come on guys!” David ordered as we all turned around.
“Hey, you gonna be okay up there?” Cassie asked.
“Yeah, yeah, just go!” I held on tighter as the group broke into a sprint, quickly getting tunnel vision. But of course, we couldn't get out too easily… as we were running, we got jumped by a couple of lighter Titans.
“Keep going, don’t stop!” Droz shouted… right as Cassie's Titan got nailed by a broadsword strike… Her Titan kept going, but the shockwave caused by the strike forced me to let go… but no one noticed… and they kept going. I turned around to see the Roin staring me down… before he had a chance, I clicked a button on my arm controller, and activated propulsion jets to speed me up. Of course I could not outrun a Titan, but I can out maneuver it. I dived between rock formations, coral, and fora to avoid getting shot or smashed into paste. I got closer, and I could hear the dropship in the distance, I broke the surface of the water and I could see it hovering above the surface, with the Squad watching from the cargo door. I got up on a rock and fired a grapple that just barely hit the cargo door. The squad almost jumped as it made contact, and I hoisted myself up.
“Sup?” I smiled, dangling off my hook.
“You are crazy, you know that?” Cassie stopped her foot.
“And you love me for it! Anyway… could you guys… ya know, help me up?” I laughed half heartedly. The others quietly chuckled to themselves as Cassie helped me up… right after, she punched me in the arm.
“Ugh...what am I gonna do with you?” Cassie sighed… but I could see a slight blush in her cheeks. I gave her a kiss before walking in the ship… the cargo door closed and we returned to the Starfire.

Chapter 4: Joint Operations

“Now what the hell are we gonna do? We lost a lot of resources out there… and I have a bad feeling this underwater fortress in only the beginning…” I smelled my hands down on the navigation controls. The squad spent the past hour or so in the bridge of the Starfire as we tried to figure out how the hell to get rid of that IMC facility before they start mass producing those damn Super Titans.
“I think we are gonna need to call the Militia for help…” Droz offered. Even though we were a separate task force, we still are on the same side, just with different jobs.
“Yes… this just turned into something more than just supply runs… this IMC facility poses a threat on the entire Malita, and her allies. We need some heavy backup.” Davis agreed.
“Right, I’ll work on contacting Sarah Briggs.” Droz nodded, and made his way to the Communications console.
“Meanwhile, we can start coming up with a game plan on how to tackle this Facility.” Davis turned back to the main command screen.
“Well, to start with, the heavy flack that us alone faced was bad enough, if we launched a full scale assault, then the IMC would just throw more at us.” Cassie pointed to a large map on the main screen, indicating at all the AA emplacements.
“At the same time, our Titans were pretty much useless underwater!” Scorch mumbled, still annoyed.
“But what else can we do?” Arrowhead asked.
“Thermal scans shows that they have defences all over that damn facility… so even if we do attach from a different side, it’s gonna be tough.” I added… flipping though the many scans.
“We are gonna need a massive assault force to even get close to the damn thing… so destroying it from the inside out is almost outta the question.” Davis rubbed his chin. Just then, one of the crewmen walked in on us.
“I’d hate to interrupt, but Droz got hold of Commander Briggs.” He explained.
“Right… thank you.” Davis replied. We turned off the screen for now and joined Droz. As soon as we got there, we saw Sarah with her arms crossed.
“Well, well, well… it’s been a while, huh?” She said. “It feels like only yesterday you were graduating from Polit School.” She added.
“Wait you were there?” I just noticed she was talking about me.
“No, but I watched the broadcast. Anyway, Droz here says you got a bit of a problem on your hands.” Sarah laughed.
“Yes, there's a Underwater IMC facility, we tried a direct assault, but we barely avoided heavy losses.” Davix explained.
“Hey, I’m still down a Titan!” I butted in.
“I see… well, based on the files you shared with me, the facility is more like a fortress, any kind of full scale invasion is pointless… but my team has speculated that if a large enough force can keep the main forces distracted, someone could sneak by and plant satchel charges at the facility's core.” Sarah explained.
“Alright, how big of a “large enough force” will cut it?” Cassie asked.
“I’ll send in one of my transport ships with enough Titans to hold off the IMC defences. That’s all I can spare.” Sarah offered.
“We’ll take all the help we can get, thank you briggs.” Davis replied.
“Good, now if you don’t mind, I have a war to fight.” Sarah ended the transmission.
“She sounded… less than stellar.” I scoffed.
“Yeah well, a lot of the front line Militia forces like to criticize The Last Resort.” Droz rolled his eyes.
   “Well, what now?” Arrowhead asked.
   “Now, we wait…” Daviz shrugged.

Soon enough, we saw a Militia Warship enter the system on the other side of the planet. Not as impressive as the Starfire, but I mean.. It’s still a warship at the end of the day. Just as we expected, we soon got a Transmission. Before I joined the group, I heard an all too familiar voice…
“As I sawing, I got a dosen Titans in the bays, combined with yours, we should have more than enough to hold the enemy off.” I swear… i know that voice from anywhere… I turned the corner into the Communications room to see Jessica Granger, the medic from my old Pilot Training Squad.
“No way! I was wondering if I’d ever see you again.” I laughed as I endeted.
“Jet! Their you are! I saw Cassie here and was afraid you were wounded or something.” Jessica smiled wide as she saw me.
“No, but I lot my Titan in the field…” I commented. “But anyway, what I miss?” I crossed my arms.
“Well, we already got the plan laid out, a dozen of my pilots combined with the same amount of yours should be enough to hold them off as someone approaches the Facility on the flank, breaks in, and destroyed it from the inside out.” Jessica explains.
“And since I’m the one without a Titan, I’m top volunteer for the job?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Well kid, since you offered…” Davis patted me on the back, smiling scarscatily.
“Don’t worry, you can ride with me.” Cassie giggled.
“Like that worked out so good the last time I head on for dear life…” I mumbled. Cassie rolled her eyes and shoved me lightly.
“Well, no time to wait, let’s get ready to drop, we all know the DZ, right?” Droz announced.
“Yes, 5 clicks south of the Facility.” Jessica replied.
“Then let’s go, Jet, you’ll be dropping in a pod this time.” Droz walked passed me. “Good luck… those things are… not the smoothest.” He added. I sighed, and made my way down to the hanger.

“Standby for Titanfall! And well.. Er… pod fall?” Cassie shouted, giggling.
“Very funny…” I tried my hardest to stop myself from laughing. Regardless, I held onto the armrests of my Dropod as we were shot out of the Starfire directly. I looked out the window of my pod to see a dosen Last resort Titans around me, and off in the distance, Malita Titans swere falling from Jessica’s Warship. Looking down, I could see my Drop Pod was heating up… thankfully nothing bad happened to us on the way down… that is, until we broke atmosphere, when they sky exploded into AA fire again. The trusted on my left side took a volley of missiles, knocking me off course a bit, I tried my best to keep it steady, but little controls are actually given to these things. I felt the pod scrape up against the side of a rock formation before smallign into the water, where the impact knocked the wind outta me…
