So I missed out on a chance to do a Saint Patty's Day pic for Dot, which most definitely one of her favorite holidays. Drinking, partying, and wearing green, all day every day, but then I thought about Mother's Day.

In general, when I think of Holidays, I like to look at all my characters and see who would be the most interesting to draw for that day. Dot on Mother's Day was a fairly interesting, if not somber one. I've mentioned before that Dot absolutely adores children. It's almost as if it's her job to entertain them, or something. Well she loves babies in particular. She wants one of her own one day, the only problem being that Dot's been around a long, long time, hundreds of years, in fact. And whatever race she belongs to doesn't exist anymore. That race also happens to be biologically incompatible to humans and whatever else may be walking around in this world, soooo pregnancy isn't possible, at least as far as she knows. When Mother's Day rolls around, it functions much like Valentine's day to a single person. "Happy Single Awareness Day." Except in Dot's case, "Happy You'll-Never-Be-A-Mother Day."

So every Mother's Day, you can find Dot at the bar, drinking her sorrows away, and no one can tell her she's had enough due to threats of Clown Violence. The morning after is never pretty.

Oh man, although it makes my heart drop, context to backstories are always a good read. Good work!
