Oh, what's this? This is a Pony Service Announcement that hopes you will consider the magic of practice! Sure, unlike what the popular slogan implies, it might not make perfect, but it certainly does make a massive difference. In my own modest capacity as a painter I've come a long way, learning how to draw ponies like ponies instead of hippos as well as gradually getting a grasp of anatomy, colour, and form so that the ponies obtained bigger, longer, and fluffier ears.
On the top shelf here there are 70 full sketchbooks with a total of 2490 paintings - and that's counting only the works I've done in watercolour sketchbooks. Even Derpy is impressed... I think. Or at least she's happy, because if nothing else, every painting played its small part in the daily exercise and development as an artist.
Nopony is born a decent, mediocre, bad, or phenomenal creator, and it's a long road to improve one's self to the maximum level of expression, but this isn't an inherently tedious affair if you like what you're doing. So, do not be terrified by the skill gap when you see the best at their best, as they've likely put in many, many more years than I have provided a glimpse of here - you wouldn't want to just jump to the end of your artistic journey, would you? As an ancient Egyptian saying boldly proclaims, wine tastes infinitely sweeter when you've grown grapes for six-hundred years.
