What I tend to see is that people who start with anthro seem to have trouble with human characters, but when doing the opposite, there doesn't seem to be as much of a learning curve o: I honestly don't really understand why that is, but it's pretty interesting!

I think so to. For me, some of the best anthro artists are usually those who started with humans and even after getting good at drawing anthros, they still draw humans often, so they are keeping both skills good and sharp. It's almost always the ones that focus on anatomy and your stuff has always had good anatomy, to the point where I can visualize seeing the subject of the drawing IRL. And naturally, good anatomy makes for better porn too.
