in my mind they are in their mid twenties & as for kids not yet but want, but can't since to the public they're still enemies.

exactly in this reality they are together started out as rivals but an incident cause them to rethink what they thought of each other

Sorry again for the late response. Anyway, in canon, them not being together seemed like such a missed opportunity; and I'm sure fans would have enjoyed them being together.
