They'd be cute together, but it would be really hard on Andy. He is open with his sexuality and accepts it. Even if coop does open up, and hooks up with Andy. Out in public he would still be acting like his homophobic straight self, because self traits are extremely hard to get over, and takes a long time. If Andy could put up with that, they'd make a cute couple.

By the by, I think it was clear enough what Coop was trying to do. He wanted to win the bet (and he was grappling with his own sexuality issues, especially around Andy), so he engaged in 'gay chicken' to make Andy uncomfortable enough so he'd win the bet... and share some of his own sexual frustrations at the same time.
