On 9/7/17, I found

adamar44 after doing a search here for 'Gideon Grey' and spotted a plush of Gideon. I immediately messaged him and found that he was not quite open for new commissions at the time. He told me he'd get in contact with me when commissions were open, and, on 10/23/17, he did exactly that.

I paid for the first of two plushies right then and there, and we came to an agreement I would pay for the second once work began on the first, because I was being put on a waiting list, as he had a lot of plushies to work on.

I was told on 1/20/18 that he began work on the first one, so I agreed to pay him on 2/1/18, which was the next time I'd have the money to do so.

Well, that day came around, and I discovered that he had already finished BOTH plushies, having sent me a picture of the two of them completed. I'd forgotten that, back in October, he told me that he keeps the patterns of his plush so he can make others quicker. Excited, I paid the rest of what I owed, and he said he'd send it out the following day.

Why did I buy two, you might ask? Well, it's because I bought the second one for my close and dear friend,

muzykamagician , because he's just as big a Gideon Grey fan as I am. The plushies were bought and meant as birthday gifts for the two of us, since our birthdays are so close.

They came from Poland so it took several weeks, but, on 2/20/18, the two plushies arrived.

When they arrived, they sat in the box they arrived in for weeks, because I wanted the day I actually held the plush to be when he visited me again, which was planned for our birthdays, since they are so close. The reason I wanted to wait until he arrived, though, was because I wanted to have us give each other the plushies, with neither of them having been touched by me until that time. Unfortunately, circumstances didn't allow him to make it until weeks later, but still the box sat unopened because of how important this was.

When he arrived on April 13th, we opened the box, I took one plush, he took the other, and we did exactly that. We gave each other the plushies we were currently holding, so my gift to him was one plush, and his gift to me was the other plush. Silly, yes, especially when you consider I paid for both of them, but by leaving them untouched until that point, it literally meant we were giving and getting the plushies at the same time.

So there you have it. There is the story of how I got my plushie. While it's true it's not officially Disney, it is likely the closest I would ever get to it, since Disney never made a Gideon Grey plushie. Nevertheless, the exchange we did made the wait worth it.
