Thx. I haven't read them yet, but I really want to. I've seen the Cartoons.

Heh heh, and you thought the cartoons were sad. Wait until you read the books.

The books are defiantly better then the cartoon series, for those aren't even close to the stories enjoyment.
But I will say that scene in the book did make me sad when I had read it 7 years ago.

Reading the book series is defiantly worth it, better when read in sequence. Only one that's oddly out of place is the book Redwall, for that was the first one he made then he improved everything beyond there. And what I mean oddly is the only time you read about horses being in the book series.

Brian Jacques' unfortunate death means that Redwall will not continue to grow.  I've never been saddened by the death of an artist until I knew that Redwall had ended.  He was a creative, humorous, and generous man, and I highly recommend reading the book series.  The cartoon series only covers the most part of three books, and leaves out nearly twenty.

Very.  But, as it usually goes with books--there is more back-story and detail.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and I look forward to seeing more Redwall fan-art. ^.^
