"So let me get this straight-"
"There is nothing to straighten. I've told you all you need to know." He continued walking without waiting for a response. The ground shifted and forced Nolan to steady himself for the next distortion.
"Then at least tell me why you have not yet killed me."
"I have no reason to."
"Now you believe in reason?" The other stopped in his tracks.
"You still have much to learn, child," he said before proceeding once more.
"Stop calling me that. I look much older than you."
"Looks mean nothing."
"I-"
"Hush, child. It is your turn to answer a question of mine." He begins to raise his hand in the air.
"Yes?"
"Why did you come to this realm?"
"I was curious. And now, I request your assistance so I may save those I care about."
"And why should I help?"
"It is only just." At this, the man chuckled. "I mean it."
"Just, you say? Why should I care?"
"Common courtesy!"
"In your world."
"Damn it all, just tell me why you led me here!" Nolan then saw the sphere of energy above the man's hand and dreaded the answer.
"You could befriend the Voidborne, correct?"
"Yes."
"Have you heard of an Unborn?"
"Not that I recall." As if responding to that very last word, the sphere of energy illuminated a new shape. A new creature. And yet it was unrecognizable, at least to Nolan. A shadowless figure loomed over both of them, its gaze directed directly toward its summoner.
"Familiars... the dwellors... spirits, espers, the like. They have always been linked to your reality. They exist. Even the Voidborne exist, though in the Void."
"Your point?"
"These poor creatures were never given the chance. And they never will."
"But here it is, right in front of us!"
"Yes, in this realm."
"What?"
"It will never exist anywhere else. Not without my guidance. And I refuse to let anyone bloody their tranquil lives."
"I never knew-"
"You are an intruder."
"Excuse me?"
"I never invited you here."
"I am but a visitor!"
"And yet, you gave that title to me in the most derogatory tone."
"My apologies! I did not expect it would create hostility. I do not wish to fight your friend!"
"I didn't expect you would fight back so hard upon your own mistake. Do you not enjoy the presence of much more powerful creatures? All three of them now bend to your will and you still fear others like them? How confused is your logic, Nolan?"
"I- what?"
"Too complex for even you to understand. Then this is goodbye, correct?"
"Yes, yes it is." He began tracing a rune in the air.
"Oh, there is no escape. You can most certainly try, but you will only perish with more pain."
"Goodbye, Visitor."
"Silly child."
Nolan disappeared from the scene behind a warm flow of light.
is what I would say if I had created more than just the prologue for my story and this. But unfortunately that's all I have and so the entire storyline doesn't officially exist and this is just a random post. So I'll explain here
The monster thing is an unnamed and unborn species, so it basically has no purpose in the real world. It's literally a hollow shell that does whatever the Visitor wants. Who's the Visitor?
Well, wouldn't you like to know
