Until the world ends

Draco found himself at the castle doors with a wide eyed look, not used to seeing something so massive in terms is structure, considering his little town didn't have anything as kingly as this. The closest he has seen was the temples and shrines that were prominent around town, but none were as big as the castle before him. With a quick and heavy breath, Draco found himself walking into the castle, the still weakened Millia on his back as he walked, it felt painful on his heart seeing his closest ally so wounded, it filled him with rage, and anger. The dragon took a few deep breaths and shook the thought, as he had only the goal to protect Prince Marz, so he couldn't allow himself to be harmed by other things. He wandered the halls silently, aside from the slight clang of his armor every time he took a step, the castle was oddly empty, guards scarce and spread out. Draco would've asked for any for of direction, but he wasn't able to find anyone who wasn't on a patrol. “Curious, King Drax has no guard that's seen. Are they hidden or is he that foolish?” He wondered. He wanted to trust the king but this was odd for him as he was one to believe a king needed heavy guards.

Draco shook off his thoughts and just ignored it for now as he eventually found the throne room, the door opened and Marz waiting before the empty throne nervously, even around his own father, it was nerve wrecking to stand there waiting for the king to show up and grant an audience, especially after all that has happened with Sean, and the years it's been since they've actually seen him. As if as on a timer, as soon as Draco approached the prince, the king’s chamber swung open and he walked in from another door towards the throne, the dragon king stood 6’6”, having a majestic air to him as he walked. Drax was ruler for over thirty years and it showed by how dignified he was in his royal garb and the crown perfectly balanced on his head, a long scaly tail and powerful wings followed the king, giving even Draco a shiver down the spine, as he was enough to make a knight like him tremble in fear.

“F-father…” Marz said softly, feeling nervous but was also in awe seeing his father looking that way, since last time he remembered his father it was in casual clothing since they were in public, so seeing such a kingly appearance was something new all together. Millia was taken by a servant who accompanied Drax and offered to get her patched up, thought Draco was skeptic, but his friends life was more important so he handed Millia off and Marz and Draco stood at attention before the king. Drax got to his throne and turned to them, the dragon king intimidating to look at, his appearance matched a dragons fierce attitude.

“So, my middle son finally arrived. I started to worry about what might've happened after what happened to Sean.” The king had a somber tone in his voice, still grieving the loss of his youngest son as he looked at the two. But there was still something in the mans eyes, even if he wasn't smiling, there was relief and happiness in his eyes at the fact that his son Marz was there before him, Alive, well and leading a group. With a few slow graceful steps, he walked down to the duo from his throne, and once in range, he wrapped his arms around Marz tight and lost his composure, a few tears leaving his eyes as he held him “I was scared I might lose two of you… I wouldn't be able to stand it.” He said softly as he embraced the fox teen, getting a hug in return from his son. All the while Draco couldn't help but smile seeing the king like that, but stayed on attention just in case.

“I'm fine father… I know what happened to Sean, and I'm sad to, but don't worry for me, because I am fine, thanks to Millia, Draco and Lynx.’ Marz finally spoke, a soft smile across his face as he looked at his father. He was hurting about what happened to his baby brother, but he had to smile just to show his father it'll be okay, no matter how much it hurts missing Sean. Once he got that out, Marz glanced around the room curiously “where's Maxwell, he is still here right?” He asked suddenly getting worried, since Maxwell was known to go alone when it came to revenge, but Marz realized something was off when he saw his father's look.

“Your brother is still here, he is currently training one of our newest members, Draga Wolfe. But there's something you should know about…” Drax started but was cut off by Marz quickly absconding the room to go and find his brother, his eagerness blocking out his father's words as he ran from the room to go and see his elder brother. Drax sighed as he stood as Draco watched him curiously.

“Pardon me for speaking out of line your majesty, but who is this Draga and what is it he needed to know?” Draco asked him as he stood there, but started lowering his guard more now that he realized there wasn't much reason to stay so tense around the royals, even as a knight. Drax nodded and turned to him to see him, getting a good look at the black, green and blue dragon, remembering his face as he watched him, before nodding again.

“Yes, Draga Wolfe was found by Maxwell and Sean before they had arrived here, he's a special swordsman though, as his twin blades are actually members of that old group of anthros who's bodies could turn into weapons, he uses them to fight and they can transform on a whim… only issue I wanted to warn about was that his sword, Eyruuad, killed Sean…” he took a pause to stop himself from breaking down, before continuing. “Sean was being possessed by an unknown force according to Maxwell, and Eyruuad was able to sense it, but Sean attacked him so Eyruuad acted in defense.” He stated explaining just how this went down.

Draco was shocked, and it was physically noticed by the king. Drax nodded softly as he sighed “It’s the truth, but I don't hate Eyruuad for it… he knew that if he didn't do it, Sean would've killed Maxwell. There was no reasoning with him being possessed, and it was either to kill Sean, or let four other lives die and have Sean come and kill people here.’ Drax was obviously distressed by what he had to say, and it hurt his heart greatly to keep talking, so Draco knew it was good to stop there for now as he nodded.

“That's a noble choice to make, and painful. Thank you for telling me this. I'll be sure to inform Marz soon. Also your majesty, me and Millia are being transferred to your army by lord Verius, we are currently the retainers of Prince Marz and we wish to keep our posts as such. I am Draco Velosare, and she is Millia Arish, we hope you accept our request.” Draco changed topics so Drax didn't have to keep suffering from the memories, and it was obvious the king appreciated it.

“Of course, Marz seems fond of both of you, so I feel it right to keep you around. But I'm surprised Verius gave up two powerful knight’s like that. Welcome to the army retainer Velosare.” Drax welcomed the dragon with a shake of the hand and giving a medal to show his new high rank amongst the elderitch royal guards, this was the start of something great for Draco, and with new pride and feelings, he bowed to the king and turned to head out of the throne room, while Drax walked back to his chamber for now. Draco made his way down the halls in an attempt to find Marz once again, realizing that he had ran off without any information. The words Drax said rang across Draco’s mind, and how Sean was killed. It pained him to think a prince would easily be turned a killer.

Draco shook the feeling for now, realizing this was just a matter that needed to be looked into, but for now he just wanted to await Millia’s recovery and letting the prince and Lynx rest. Remembering Lynx however made Draco realize that he hasn't seen the boy since they were in town and he rushed quicker to go and find him. “Lord Verius will have my head if I lose his son, where did that kid go?’ He thought as he rushed down the halls, before turning into a door and finding Saria and Lynx tending to Millia’s wounds, the girls armor was removed and it showed her light clothing that most Knights wore underneath, the backs of the clothing completely singed from the attack in the village.

“Oh, perfect timing.” Saria stated and walked over to Draco. “Thank you so much for defending the city. I knew about the assassins but I was foolish to believe they'd be silent in the day. I should've been on my guard but had changed my judgement and for that I thank you and Millia for what you had done.” She smiled at the knight as he stood there, his face light red as he wasn't used to praise, especially from a beautiful woman such as her. Draco stammered as he tried to respond as he looked st Saria, who just giggled while Lynx watched with a cheeky smirk as he realized Draco was embarrassed as he decided to walk over “Oh, it's nothing for Draco to handle miss Saria, he's a great knight.” He chuckled as Saria giggled seeing what was going on.

“I see, well I still thank you for the service provided, and for making sure prince Marz arrived here safely.” She said and went back to tending to Millia’s burns, while Lynx looked at Draco “smooth Draco, smooth.” He chuckled as the dragon shot him a glare that would kill if able.

“Shut it.” Draco says as he walked over to Millia and Saria, kneeling besides the bed as he looked at the sleeping knight before him. He sighed and placed a hand in hers and gently closed it. “Rest well Millia, you'll get through this.” He whispered softly to the girl, his best friend, partner and inspiration for being a knight, he owed her so much, so he wanted to be by her side through all of this. Without waking up, Millia’s grip on his hand tightened a bit to show she was aware and listening. Draco smiled and wiped a few tears from his eyes seeing the response. He nodded and stayed there while Saria worked on the wounds.

Lynx smiled at the sight as he walked out and headed to the training room to see Marz quickly run in right as he got there. Lynx looked in and saw Draga and Maxwell just finishing practice, but before Maxwell could take a chance to rest, he was tackled by Marz. “Maxwell! You're okay!” He said happily and quickly latched into his older brother, the black wolf trying to figure out what just happened, before gasping and smiling as he rubbed the fox's head “yeah I'm okay, just a bit sore after getting attacked by some jackal.” He said and sat up while Lynx and Draga walked up, Marz curling up against the wolf happily as they reunited. Marz sighed though as he still missed Sean so this was a mixed bag for him as Draga stood there worrying, as he knew he had been the one to kill Sean, or his sword at least but he still felt responsible for what happened.

Draga sighed softly and walked out of the training room, his tail dragging along as he felt his emotions well up again, all the while a female white dragon appeared behind him “master… it's not wise to keep this a secret, we have to tell him.” She said softly and stood close to the young dragon, who held onto her sadly.

“I know camillimara… I know. I just can't. Not yet.” He said and lied against her as she held him tightly to her chest, protecting him from the world that was around.

“Don't worry Draga… it'll be okay. You have us until the world ends.”
