Here is a sketch that I did of Chase recently. I know it's not perfect. But, I am a beginner at this. But, I must say not bad for a newbie like me. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you, Nelson that means a lot to me. My first time ever sketching and my first time uploading something I did as well. So, glad to hear you like it. But, with more practice I can do much much better.

Do whatever it takes to get better. Fundamentals are really important. There is no specific right way to learn but there are skills that if developed first become really good launching points for future skills. The author of the manga "Vagabond" talks about how he would put a great deal of time into replicating pages/characters from manga he enjoyed. Jack Kirby likewise spent a great deal of his youth pouring over comic pages and drawing what he saw. Replicating other's works in a sense helps develop the part of your brain that processes and organizes details.
Also every kind of creative act contributes to your ability to create in a kind of gestalt sense. Be it sketching, art, 3d modeling or even coloring other's works and learning the tools that way. Don't ever let people get you down either. The world's jam packed with sour grapes and damaged individuals. Keep doing your thing and you'll get where you're going :)
